Gloucestershire Art Student Receives Travel Bursary from Cheltenham Law Firm

Cheltenham, Gloucestershire (PRWeb UK) July 11, 2009

The end of the Summer Term is an annual milestone for every student and is especially so for Lydia Shirreff, who has just completed her Second Year studying Fine Art at the University of Gloucester Campus in Albert Road, Cheltenham. She was recently awarded a £600 personal travel bursary, funded by well-known Cheltenham Patent and Trademark Attorneys Wynne-Jones, Lainé & James LLP (http://www.wynne-jones.com).

The prize, which demonstrates the Firm’s commitment to innovation and originality by students at the University, was awarded by Dr Ian Lambert, a Partner at Wynne-Jones. Lydia received the award in recognition of her creativity and originality in exploring the relationship between landscape and human perception and especially the effects of form, colour and mapping.

Lydia will use the money to fund a trip to Iceland in July this year, where she hopes to draw inspiration from the dramatic volcanic landscapes, and to develop her skills in three-dimensional representation and sculpture, in readiness for her Final Year.

Lydia is no stranger to travel, having recently spent time in Japan and Austria, where she studied the relationship between form and function in the design of human landscapes.
