Danya Intern Launches Global Health in Action

Danya International, Inc., a communications, research, and technology firm, announces the launch of a new global health social media initiative, Global Health in Action, on August 1, 2011. The goal is to engage college-aged students in passionate discussion and involvement in global health issues. This initiative will be launched by Danya Market Research Intern Jabari Smith Fraser and E-Marketing Assistant Melissa Jackson on Facebook.
There are three primary areas of this initiative: Learn, Act and Interact.
Learn: In addition to information provided by Danya, students will also be able to educate themselves on global health issues from information posted by other students and users. This initiative emphasizes peer-to-peer communication and collaboration.
Act: Students are encouraged to take action—include volunteering, donating money, and organizing and participating in events—on global health issues of interest to them. A featured channel for action will be through Jolkona, a donation website that connects users with global philanthropic opportunities. Through Jolkona, donors can track the direct impact their donation has made.
Interact: Along with the peer-to-peer communication and information sharing, students will be able to share personal stories and experiences. Global Health in Action will be a place for students to connect and network, building the community of students with an overall goal of making an impact on global health.
Launch Contest: Coinciding with the launch, Danya will run a contest through the page. Fans are encouraged to submit their personal stories of experience and engagement with global health issues. There will be an opportunity for fans to vote for their favorite stories, and the person whose submission receives the most votes by September 30 will receive an iPad 2.
“Global Health in Action is about giving college students like me the resources to positively affect change by empowering them through a community of like-minded individuals geared towards making a difference,” said Smith Fraser.
“Our hope for this initiative is that students will be able to explore their passion for health conditions around the world while connecting with students that share their passion,” said Jackson.

Aw, this was a really great post. In theory I’d like to write like this also – taking time and real effort to make a good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate alot and never seem to get something done.
